Andrew is a licensed Perth electrician (EC9715) with 30+ years fixing electric cooktops — induction, ceramic glass and solid-element. Service call is from $179 (includes the first 30 minutes' labour), every repair is backed by a 12-month parts warranty, and pensioner rates are available. Rated 4.8/5 from 25+ Google reviews. We repair and replace electric and induction cooktops only.

Stove & stovetop repairs across Perth
Whether you call it a stove, a stovetop, a cooktop or the hotplates, it's the same job to Andrew — and he repairs the lot. Most “stove repair” calls in Perth come down to a stove top that's stopped heating: a dead element, a cracked ceramic surface, controls that won't respond or a burning smell when a zone is switched on. Andrew diagnoses the fault on site, carries common elements and parts in the van, and gets your stovetop working again wherever possible rather than pushing you toward a brand-new unit. He covers stove repairs right across the Perth metro — Joondalup, Fremantle, Rockingham, Mandurah and the suburbs in between.
Range cooker & freestanding stove repairs
Got a freestanding range cooker or an all-in-one stove where the oven and cooktop share one unit? Andrew services those too. On a dual-fuel range cooker — a gas cooktop paired with an electric oven — he repairs the electric oven side and the electric controls. Pure gas-only ovens sit outside what Andrew covers — he's a licensed electrician (EC9715), focused on the electric side of your appliance, and the gas connection on a dual-fuel appliance needs a licensed gas fitter. If you're not sure what type of range cooker you've got, send a photo of the model plate with your enquiry and Andrew will tell you straight up whether it's a job he can take. Induction cooktop repairs & replacement
An induction cooktop runs off a control board and a set of induction coils under the glass. When one zone stops working, the cooktop throws an error code, or the whole unit is dead, it's usually the board, a coil, or the power supply — all electrical faults Andrew can test and repair on-site as a licensed electrician (EC9715). If the unit is beyond economical repair, he also handles induction cooktop replacement: he disconnects the old cooktop, supplies and fits a like-for-like induction unit (or installs one you've already bought), reconnects it to the correct circuit and tests it on full load before he leaves. Andrew quotes the full supply and fit before he starts, so you know the price upfront.
Ceramic & glass cooktop repair and replacement
Ceramic (glass-top) cooktops heat through radiant elements under a smooth glass surface. The faults Andrew fixes most are a single zone not heating, a hotplate stuck on full, dead touch controls, or a cracked glass top. A crack is the one fault worth acting on fast — a broken ceramic surface can expose live elements, so it's electrically unsafe to keep using. Where the glass or elements are beyond repair, Andrew does full ceramic stove top replacement: he removes the old cooktop, supplies and fits a new ceramic or induction unit (or installs one you've supplied), reconnects it to the right circuit and tests every zone. As a licensed electrician (EC9715) he can also upgrade the socket or circuit if the new cooktop needs it. Every job is quoted upfront and backed by a 12-month parts warranty on the parts we supply.
Repair or replace your cooktop?
Not every cooktop is worth saving, and Andrew will give you the honest call rather than the expensive one. A single failed element or a worn control is almost always a cheaper repair than a replacement. Badly shattered ceramic glass, water damage through the unit, or a discontinued board with no parts left can tip the balance toward replacing the cooktop instead — and if that's the case, Andrew can talk you through swapping the unit rather than leaving you to work it out alone. Need an element replacement? That's a separate service with its own pricing. Either way you get a clear web quote first, so there are no surprises.
